I'm sure microsoft's engineers and designers are already hard at work making an Xbox 360 version 2.0. Something smaller, quieter, sleeker and with a few extra features already included. Choose your own HDD? Probably not, but it would be nice. Intergrated Wi-Fi? Probably. Cooler running chips, or maybe some sort of combo chip (GPU and CPU on the same die, 45 nm style). Maybe even a version with blue ray, who knows.

This is kind of an aside, but I think the biggest thing they nee...

Top loading 360, hey that might work. Top loading for consoles isn't a bad design choice.

I definately think Microsoft could have put in some more research and development into the 360 before release. They did rush it to the market, to that there is no doubt. And they didn't prepare it well enough for the features they want to push, like downloadable content, games and video. Not having the HDD as a standard definately was a bad move on their part. Nobody I knew when the 360 came out wanted to get one without the HDD. Everyone wanted the HDD. I got stuck buying a Core and then dri...

I think the best way to model DLC is the way it is done on the PC. If a developer just wants to add a couple of maps here and there, they should be done in the updates and made mandatory for everyone like a patch on the PC does (kind of hard for the 360 to do without an HDD as standard). You just end up playing the stock maps mostly since not everyone will be able to play the new maps. Little additions should be made automatic, free and mandatory for everyone.

Now, bigger stuff...

I totally agree. DLC on the consoles is being abused and it's going to reach a breaking point sometime in the future. DLC should not be something planned to be an extra 10 dollars on top of what you already paid right on release day. It should be something that adds to the game months after release to extend the life. It shouldn't be something you pay for that is already included on the disk (you know those new weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company are included on the disk, otherwise nobody wou...

I know it's just money in their pockets. And I don't mind them making money of DLC, but come on, even microsoft has got to have some kind of standards. Stuff like this just shows how much they truly appreciate their customers. I don't mind paying good money for a good game, but not if they think I'm an idiot and will go and buy every little microtransaction that comes out, no thank you.

Truth is, I bet DICE didn't even want to do this, EA probably just said "That's the way...

Didn't EA end up buying Bioware right? So, it probably will happen like that, yeah.

I guess I'm just really used to the way it's done on the PC. Like back when Call of Duty came out, virtually every time they patched that game (I think there was like 3-4 big patches) it seemed like it got a new map. And you knew you would get to actually use it since everyone has an HDD, the patches were pretty much mandatory, and so everyone was on the same playing field. Same thing with UT, Q3, C&C games (didn't Red Alert 2 have like 10 free map packs straight from EA, whoa EA, wow) et...

Microsoft should not allow EA to do this. Simply the thought of this ruins the general idea of what DLC should be on the 360. Horse armor in oblivion was bad enough, then EA came along and has a sleu of terrible DLC. These "microtranscations" and "content already on disk" are just slap in the face to gamers everywhere. DLC isn't something that is meant to be made available the day the game ships. It meant to be something to add on into the game months after it ships, to ex...

Personally I wouldn't mind a blue ray Xbox 360 as a top model 360. Something like the Elite with Blue-Ray, large HDD and (hopefully for those who REALLY need it) intergrated WiFi. It would be somewhat of a niche item, and games wouldn't be able to be released on Blue-Ray since not every 360 has a blue-ray (obviously). Hell, if you still have an HD-DVD drive you could play both types of movies on one system. Not too bad. I wouldn't mind getting one of these in lieu of a PS3 for blue-ray except...

Wha..... Either IGN is really trying to put one on us right now, or they're April fooling us into thinking this movie is fake when in fact it is real. I'm confused, but damn the actor for Link isn't very convincing, neither is Ganon (or Gannon, I forget how to spell that one). And Zelda looks like some kind of ghost. Impa's not too bad though, I have to give them credit for that one. Dammit, now I don't know what to think. I still think it's an april fools joke, but they are doing a decent jo...

It would be nice if Nintendo got the hint from this proof of concept April fools joke and went ahead and started to make a real legend of zelda movie. Not something like Super Mario Brothers (dear god no), but something like this would be awesome. Super cheesy in some ways, but it would make one hell of a great movie if done right. As long as it steers clear of some of the problems other past videogame to movie, err, movies have made (like FF: Spirits Within), keeps the basic story but doesn'...

Well, it doesn't mean it won't happen but this (HIGHLY likely) april fools joke is definately not the best confirmation I want to hear. Until square-enix comes out and says this on their own, I won't believe anything, especially around this time of the year (no matter how much I want too, :( ).

Yeah, Nintendo improve online features, please. They still think that online features are just some kind of a fad. It would be great if they did, but too bad it happens to be april fools time.

LOL, I was just thinking the same thing. Prices seem WAY to high if that smash brothers price is any indication. Then again, this looks fake anyway so whatever.

Hmmm. Not only do programmers now have to scale their games to work on single core, dual core and quad core CPUs, they now have the triple core CPU as well in the PC gaming world. I can see there being practicallity for this in other applications, but gaming, come on reall now. Why can't they just have more standards out there. Too many variations just means that much more stuff that won't get used. Though in PC's that extra core can do other things while your gaming, like ripping a DVD or so...

I've already lost my love for Nintendo. They used to think they were a decent company, but this just takes the cake. I don't think Microsoft or Sony would make this mistake.

I'll always remember the good old days of the NES and SNES, even the N64 and Gamecube. Now, this company doesn't even seem to be the same anymore.

He had some older designs that looked a lot more like her original valve style but with lots of variations (hell, there was even a topless one with just a pair of jeans on, and one with her running around in a towel, with no underwear on either). He changed the face too much on most of those models, which is what ruins it. Put her face back and it's not too bad.

I want to believe this is real, but around this time of the year anything can just be some elaborate joke. RE4 is a good, if not great game, and I would pick it up if it came out on 360, but I'm not getting my hopes up over this. It could be real, it's probably fake, we'll have to all wait and see.

The guy already seems to know how to hack the PC version, so chances are much more in favor to this being a hoax then reality. Sad but true.

What could it be. I'm hoping for a Darkforces/Jedi Knight sequel or a sequel to Republic Commando. That game was far too short but it did have some neat ideas. If they could improve on that then it could make a great game. Then again, KoTOR III wouldn't be so bad either.
